About The Position

Haley Volvo of Richmond is looking for a Technician Apprentice. The apprentice assists senior technicians with routine services and minor repairs while building hands-on diagnostic and mechanical skills. This entry-to-mid-level role combines daily shop work with ongoing technical training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Basic hand tool knowledge
• Willingness to learn complex electrical or drivability systems.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and possess good manual dexterity.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Current enrollment in or completion of a post-secondary automotive training program is often preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, wheel balancing, and battery installations.
• Conduct multi-point safety checks, visual brake inspections, and basic system testing.
• Work side-by-side with master technicians on advanced diagnostics, suspension adjustments, and complex engine repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, keeping tools and equipment properly stored.
• Record service work, check maintenance schedules using database tools, and report equipment defects to supervisors.
