About The Position
Farris Motor Company is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Manager who knows how to take a clear leadership vision and make it happen in the service department. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can communicate expectations, train the team, follow up consistently, and hold people accountable for execution. We are looking for a High Level Service department leader who can step in and take this operation to the next level. The upside potential in our market is beyond our current capacity and we are building a new state of the art facility that will bring in new benefits for acquiring top talent. Leadership will provide the direction. Your responsibility is to make sure that direction becomes reality through clear communication, training, daily action, consistent follow-up, and accountability. You'll be expected to lead from the front, train where needed, address problems quickly, follow through consistently, and make sure the department performs at a high level both in customer and employee satisfaction. You will have direct support from the group Fixed Operations Director to help you understand the vision, mission and the expectations. We expect our managers to take Ownership of their success and be able turn the leadership vision into a reality for all customers and employees. Requirements
- Ford dealership service management experience preferred
- Experience with Dealertrack a major Plus!
- A strong hands-on leadership style
- Proven ability to turn direction into consistent execution
- Ability to train, retain, coach, correct, and hold employees accountable
- Strong understanding of dealership service operations
- Comfortable managing technicians, advisors, workflow, and department performance
- Strong communication and follow-through
- Ability to use performance numbers to identify problems and drive action
- Organized, decisive, and comfortable addressing issues directly
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Take dealership leadership's vision, expectations, and priorities and put them into action every day
- Lead the service department through direct involvement, consistent communication, and follow-up
- Train and coach service advisors and technicians on the behaviors and standards expected of them
- Hold team members accountable for performance, productivity, customer service, and execution
- Make sure established processes and expectations are being followed consistently
- Manage workflow to keep technicians productive and customers informed
- Monitor sales, gross profit, expenses, productivity, and customer satisfaction
- Address performance issues directly and follow through until expectations are met
- Handle customer concerns professionally and work toward effective resolutions
- Work closely with dealership leadership to execute department priorities and achieve performance goals
