About The Position
Elsesser Auto, a GreatWater garage, is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Manager / Shop Manager to lead the daily operations of their professional automotive repair facility in Williamston, MI. This role, also referred to as Operating Partner, involves leading a high-performing team, driving performance, and delivering excellent customer service. The company combines the personal culture of a neighborhood shop with the support of a growing automotive network. The Operating Partner will lead their team, maintain company standards, and ensure customers receive honest, high-quality service.
Requirements
- 2+ years automotive shop management experience
- 1+ year sales experience or strong service sales ability
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Experience managing technicians and service advisors
- Ability to manage workflow, productivity, and shop performance
- Comfortable reviewing financial reports and shop KPIs
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop the shop team
- Manage daily shop operations and workflow
- Maintain company standards, systems, and values
- Sell repair and maintenance services using transparent communication
- Monitor technician productivity and shop efficiency
- Conduct hiring, onboarding, and training of team members
- Perform employee coaching and performance reviews
- Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and warranty administration
- Monitor financial performance and shop profitability
- Handle customer concerns and service recovery
- Ensure shop safety and operational standards
