About The Position

Nielsen Ford of Sussex is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Advisor to provide part-time coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Service Advisor seeking a flexible part-time schedule with the potential for additional hours and future growth. The Part-Time Automotive Service Advisor assists customers throughout the vehicle-service process, from appointment scheduling and repair-order preparation through customer authorization, progress updates, payment, vehicle delivery, and follow-up.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive dealership Service Advisor experience is required.
  • Consistent Saturday availability is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • General knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair operations.
  • Experience preparing repair orders, obtaining customer authorization, presenting recommended services, and managing customer follow-up.
  • Experience with dealership management, scheduling, digital-inspection, or manufacturer service systems.
  • Strong customer-service, sales, communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple repair orders and changing priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Ability to learn and follow the procedures of multiple dealerships and vehicle brands.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance.
  • Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record if moving or road-testing customer vehicles is an essential duty.

Responsibilities

  • Greet service customers promptly and professionally.
  • Obtain accurate customer and vehicle information.
  • Listen to customer concerns and document them clearly in the customer’s own words.
  • Prepare repair orders and obtain required signatures and authorizations.
  • Review vehicle condition, maintenance history, recalls, and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Provide accurate estimates for labor, parts, applicable fees, and anticipated completion times.
  • Explain recommended maintenance and repairs clearly without making unauthorized promises or guarantees.
  • Obtain and document customer authorization before additional work is performed.
  • Monitor the progress of assigned repair orders and keep customers informed throughout the service process.
  • Coordinate with technicians, parts employees, warranty personnel, cashiers, and service management.
  • Explain completed work, warranty coverage, maintenance recommendations, and final charges accurately.
  • Close repair orders promptly and assist with vehicle delivery.
  • Follow up on customer satisfaction and escalate unresolved concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate customer, vehicle, authorization, and repair-order records.
  • Follow the procedures, systems, and reporting requirements established at each assigned dealership.
  • Protect customer vehicles, keys, personal property, payment information, and confidential records.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and customer-focused communication at all times.
  • Attend required dealership, manufacturer, system, or compliance training.
  • Perform other related duties based on coverage needs and business requirements.
