Automotive Service Advisor / Tire Technician
About The Position
This is a unique position for someone who enjoys working with customers but also isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. The position combines front-counter customer service and service writing with hands-on tire work in the shop. We are a family-owned tire and automotive repair business serving our community since 1978, and we are looking for a dependable, motivated individual to join our team. Because we are a fast-paced shop, the ability to multitask is extremely important. You may be helping a customer at the counter, answering a phone call, checking on a service order, and then helping in the shop as needed. We are not necessarily looking for someone who already knows everything. We're looking for someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work hard in a fast-paced environment. If you enjoy working with people, have an interest in automobiles and tires, and like a job where you're not sitting behind a desk all day, we'd like to hear from you.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license – required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay organized
- Willingness to complete tire manufacturer training and learning modules
- Ability to work well with customers and coworkers
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the tire or automotive industry
- Tire mounting and balancing experience
- Basic tire product knowledge
- TPMS knowledge
Responsibilities
- Answer phones and assist customers at the front counter
- Schedule service appointments
- Greet customers and help write up service orders
- Communicate with customers regarding their vehicle and tire needs
- Help customers with tire selection and product information
- Mount, balance, rotate, and service tires
- Work with Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)
- Communicate with technicians and other team members to keep jobs moving efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with other tire and automotive service duties as needed
