About The Position

ELCO Chevrolet is seeking a full-time Automotive Salesperson to join their team at their Chevy dealership in Ballwin, MO. This role is responsible for selling new vehicles while meeting dealership gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction standards. The position offers full benefits and a substantial income potential, with take-home pay exceeding $80,000 in the first year. The company fosters a motivated, energetic team atmosphere and is looking for a candidate to contribute to their success.

Requirements

  • Must have at least a high school diploma/GED.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations and/or at-fault accidents on driving record in the past 3 years.
  • No drug or alcohol-related conviction on driving record in the past 3 years (DUI/DWI).
  • Must be willing to take a pre-employment drug screening test.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Demonstrated strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • At least 2 years of professional, commissioned field sales experience in the previous four years.
  • Must be able to work every Saturday 8 am - 6 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Assists customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses.
  • Approaches, greets, and offers assistance or direction to any customer who enters the sales lot.
  • Explains fully product performance, application, and benefits to prospects and describes all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Knows and understands equity and values, and is able to explain depreciation to the customer.
  • Completes sales orders and processes paperwork (including insurance information, trade title, etc.) to finance and insurance manager.
  • Prepares sold vehicles for customer delivery and ensures that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Introduces customers to service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available and schedules the first service appointment.
  • Follows up on all post-delivery items and maintains an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains a prospect development system.
  • Maintains professional appearance.
