About The Position

The Automotive Sales Manager drives dealership profitability and customer retention by hiring, training, and motivating sales staff to meet vehicle sales quotas. They set, monitor, and achieve monthly sales, gross profit, and inventory goals while overseeing customer satisfaction (CSI) and managing daily sales operations.

Requirements

  • At least two to five years of successful automotive sales experience, with proven team management skills.
  • Strong ability to motivate, lead, and train a team.
  • Proficient in calculating percentages, interest, commissions, and interpreting market data.
  • Experience with dealer management systems (DMS) and CRM platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, motivate, and monitor the performance of sales consultants, conducting regular training and sales meetings.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor daily sales activities and quotas for both new and used vehicles.
  • Handle customer complaints, escalations, and assist with complex negotiations to ensure high satisfaction.
  • Review vehicle appraisals, manage inventory levels to meet sales demand, and ensure profitability of the department.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Prepare daily and monthly sales, gross, and expense reports.
  • Develop and maintain a Prospecting and Sales Control System to maximize customer retention and follow-up.
