About The Position

The General Service Technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role delivers 5 Star service through effective communication about vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while meeting guest expectations for service time and quality. The position is hourly and may be full-time or part-time, based on business needs.

Requirements

• Automotive training that includes basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle services and repairs in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
• Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, tire changes, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
• Perform vehicle services such as lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance, bulb, wiper blade and filter replacements, battery testing, and battery installation.
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle; identify, document, and communicate additional services and repairs that may be needed.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
• Help with general store duties and maintain the store in a clean, guest-ready condition in accordance with Monro standards.
• Perform services according to Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles under Monro’s Road Test policy, using designated routes and following local traffic and safety laws.
• Follow company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards, and consistently use required safety practices.
• Maintain technical knowledge and capabilities by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
• Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.
