About The Position

Malloy Ford in Charlottesville is seeking an experienced Automotive Parts Manager to oversee our entire parts operation. This is a leadership role designed for a professional who understands the balance between maintaining a high fill rate for our service technicians and maximizing retail and wholesale profitability. You will be responsible for inventory control, staff management, and building strong relationships with our vendors and local wholesale accounts. Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Previous experience in Automotive Parts Management or as a Lead Counterperson ready for the next step.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Dealership Management Systems (DMS) and Ford parts cataloging.
  • Ability to commute to Charlottesville, VA.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep knowledge of automotive parts, terminology, and Ford warranty procedures.
  • Previous Reynolds Ignite Software experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on "clean" bin locations and accurate cycle counts.
  • Excellent negotiation skills for vendor relations and wholesale accounts.
  • Professional demeanor with a "customer-first" mindset.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Control: Manage stock levels to ensure high shop productivity while minimizing obsolescence and overstock.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor parts counter staff and drivers to provide elite customer service.
  • Wholesale Growth: Actively manage and grow our wholesale parts business.
  • Financial Management: Monitor departmental P&L, manage core returns, and ensure all parts claims are processed timely.
  • Inter-departmental Unity: Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure a seamless workflow between parts and service.
