Automotive Parts Counterperson-Subaru
About The Position
Competition Subaru of Smithtown is seeking a dependable, motivated Parts Counterperson to join their busy dealership team. In this role, you will play a hands-on part in keeping the counter and inventory running smoothly. You will assist front counter retail customers, serve internal technicians, and process online/e-commerce orders. Because the department thrives on teamwork, all members of the counter staff actively help receive shipments, stock shelves, and keep inventory organized. Parts counter experience is required, but dealership experience is NOT required. The company welcomes applicants with a counter background from any parts industry (automotive, aftermarket, commercial, marine, power equipment, hardware, or retail parts). If you bring counter experience and a strong work ethic, the company will provide the dealership training to help you succeed.
Requirements
- Must have prior parts counter experience (automotive, aftermarket, heavy equipment, power sports, hardware, or general retail parts).
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work Saturdays (Mandatory).
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift items up to 50 lbs to stock shelves and handle inventory.
- Strong customer service skills, basic computer literacy, great attention to detail, and a team-first attitude.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Dealership experience is a plus.
- CDK experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist retail customers at the front counter, helping them identify correct parts, check availability, and process payments.
- Unload incoming shipments, stock shelves, organize inventory, and keep bin locations clean and accurate.
- Process, pull, package, and complete online/e-commerce parts orders accurately and efficiently.
- Pull parts quickly and bill them onto service repair orders for shop technicians.
- Answer incoming calls, provide accurate price quotes, and check stock status.
- Work collaboratively with the counter team on daily stock receiving, inventory counts, and shop support.
