Automotive Parts Counterperson Summary: As an Automotive Parts Counterperson, your job primarily involves assisting customers with locating, purchasing, and ordering automotive parts, while also managing inventory and providing customer service. This role requires strong customer interaction skills, a basic understanding of automotive parts, and the ability to utilize computer systems and catalogs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist all customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials and ensures that the customer is exposed to the full product line
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information
  • Provide high level of service to internal and external customers
  • Pull and fill orders from stock
  • Deliver parts to technicians
  • Ensure that areas of the parts departments are properly stocked
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources
  • Notify the service advisor and the customer when special order parts have been received
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts
  • Replenish assigned inventory daily
  • Make sure all internal requests are billed on service repair order
  • Ensure that all customers received their copy of the invoice
  • Issue credit for parts returned
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery or pick-up
  • Participate in all training programs that are made available
  • Keep current on new products and product updates
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a neat work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
