About The Position

Classic Collision is hiring an Autobody Paint Prepper to prepare assigned vehicles for refinishing and reassembly and support Paint Technicians with paint jobs as needed. The role follows factory specifications, written repair orders, and direction from a mentoring Paint Technician. It also involves maintaining tools and equipment, following hazardous-waste procedures, and keeping the workspace clean and organized. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid driver's license required.
Strong organizational skills.
Successful completion of a background check required.

I-CAR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare assigned vehicles for refinishing and reassembly processes and support Paint Technicians with paint jobs as required.
Complete vehicle paint-preparation processes according to factory specifications, the written repair order, and direction from the mentoring Paint Technician.
Prepare spray-out panels to determine blend needs and assist with sanding and buffing to meet paint-finish quality standards.
Follow hazardous-waste disposal requirements.
Follow vendor procedures for tools and equipment, including maintaining the paint booth and booth filters.
Keep the workspace clean and organized.
Use air sanders, spray guns, sanding blocks, and related tools to complete quality work.
Before returning a vehicle to the body technician, ensure paint operations are complete, masking is removed, and prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
