Automotive Office Manager

O'Meara Auto GroupNorthglenn, CO
$60,000 - $80,000Onsite

About The Position

O’Meara Auto Group is hiring an experienced Office Manager to help lead our GMC and Volkswagen accounting office. This is a key seat — you’ll be the right hand to a sharp, no-nonsense Controller, and together you’ll run a tight, accurate, and well-organized office that the entire dealership relies on. You’ll partner with the Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations for the GMC and VW stores. You’ll lead a team of clerks and specialists, drive the office to month-end deadlines, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. This isn’t a back-seat role — you’ll own outcomes, hold the team accountable, and have real authority over how the office runs. This is a working management role, not a desk role.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of dealership accounting experience is required. You know what a deal jacket looks like, you understand schedules, and you’ve closed month-end before.
  • Proven experience leading an office team — hiring, training, holding people accountable, addressing performance issues directly when needed.
  • Detail-oriented and by-the-book. You catch what others miss and you don’t let things slide.
  • Comfortable with direct, fast-paced leadership. Our Controller is a high performer who values precision over small talk. The right candidate appreciates that and brings the same energy.
  • Self-driven — you don’t wait to be told. You see what needs to happen and you make it happen.
  • Professional under pressure, especially at month-end.
  • Working knowledge of CDK, Reynolds, or similar DMS platforms.
  • Complete understanding of automotive accounting procedures, title/tag processing and manufacturer financial statements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations —support monthly financial statements, bank reconciliations, CIT, floorplan, deal posting, schedule maintenance.
  • Drive the office through month-end close on deadline, every month.
  • Review reconciled schedules with the team weekly; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Train, coach, and hold accountable a team of office staff (billing, title, A/P, A/R, cancellations).
  • Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, and Colorado state title requirements.
  • Partner closely with sales, F&I, service, and parts to resolve accounting issues quickly and professionally.
  • Step in wherever needed.
