About The Position

Homer Skelton Ford is seeking a dependable, motivated, and customer-focused Mobile Express Technician to join our Service Department. This position provides routine maintenance and light automotive services at locations outside of the traditional service shop environment. The Mobile Express Technician represents Homer Skelton Ford directly with customers and must provide the same level of professionalism, quality, and customer service expected inside our dealership. The Mobile Express Technician performs routine maintenance and light repairs at customer locations, dealership locations, and other approved service locations. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys working independently, interacting with customers, solving problems, and providing convenient automotive service while maintaining dealership standards.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive service experience preferred.
  • Experience performing routine maintenance is strongly preferred.
  • Automotive technical school or related training is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and maintenance.
  • Ability to safely use automotive tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
  • Comfortable driving a company mobile service vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when necessary.
  • Ability to lift, bend, kneel, stand, and perform physical automotive service duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive technical school or related training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mobile oil and filter changes.
  • Perform tire rotations and tire inspections when mobile equipment allows.
  • Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, and other maintenance items.
  • Perform battery testing and replacement.
  • Perform fluid checks and top-offs.
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections.
  • Inspect brakes, tires, belts, hoses, lights, and other vehicle components.
  • Identify potential maintenance or repair needs and communicate findings appropriately.
  • Complete work according to Ford manufacturer procedures and dealership standards.
  • Properly document all services performed.
  • Communicate service findings and recommendations to the Service Advisor or appropriate dealership personnel.
  • Maintain and organize the mobile service vehicle, tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure the mobile service vehicle is properly stocked and ready for daily appointments.
  • Follow all safety procedures when working at customer locations and other off-site locations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude when interacting with customers.
  • Protect customer vehicles and property while performing services.
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area at every service location.
  • Manage daily appointments and routes efficiently.
  • Communicate delays, additional concerns, or unexpected issues to management promptly.
  • Assist the dealership Service Department when mobile appointments are not scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Provide a professional and welcoming customer experience.
  • Clearly explain the services performed when appropriate.
  • Treat every customer's vehicle with care and respect.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Protect customer property and follow all customer-location requirements.
  • Represent Homer Skelton Ford positively in every interaction.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully at all times.
