About The Position

Tony’s Muscle Cars is seeking a skilled and motivated Automotive Mechanic to join their garage in Hazleton, PA. This role involves working hands-on with a premier collection of 1950s–1980s-era muscle cars and vintage vehicles, performing restorations, modern upgrades, and custom installations. The position requires a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, the ability to troubleshoot and repair issues, and effective communication with management. The mechanic will also be responsible for documenting work, adapting to new technologies, managing multiple tasks, and providing support in fabrication and general shop duties.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in a garage environment
  • Knowledge of classic and muscle cars, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Experience with vehicle restorations, custom builds, or performance upgrades
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and goal-oriented with a passion for automotive craftsmanship
  • Own tools required for automotive repair and diagnostics
  • Willingness to learn, take directions, and ask questions
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and resilience

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of classic and muscle cars, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and modify components including Vintage Air systems, American Auto Wire harnesses, EFI systems, LS/Coyote engine swaps, digital gauges, air ride suspension, disc brake conversions, modern audio systems, and more
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic work on classic and muscle cars with accuracy and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and repair both major and minor mechanical and electrical issues
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding parts needs, additional repairs, and approvals
  • Document work performed through written notes and photos
  • Adapt to new methods, technologies, and modern automotive upgrades
  • Manage multiple tasks while maintaining organization, quality, and timelines
  • Provide hands-on support in fabrication and general shop duties as needed
