Automotive Mechanic - South Mountain Restoration Center
About The Position
Are you seeking a role where your expertise in automotive repair supports an important mission as an Automotive Mechanic with the Department of Human Services? This position focuses on maintaining and repairing vehicles and power equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- Possess a current and valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
- Possession of a valid Class 1 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certified Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Able to perform essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Perform major and minor repairs on cars, trucks, and related equipment
- Maintain a valid inspection license and check vehicles for compliance with inspection standards
- Repair transmissions, brakes, clutches, and other automotive components
- Overhaul vehicles, generators, and compressors as needed
- Maintain accurate service records for each vehicle
- Respond to urgent equipment needs, especially during winter weather
