About The Position

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is seeking experienced Full-time Automotive Mechanics for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. In this role, you will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. You will also handle independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members. This position is based in Warren, MI, and offers an AM Day shift with weekends as needed. Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience as a Mechanic
  • Knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Has own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Able to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident allowing for ITAR compliance
  • Proficient in the use of maintenance tools, repair and special tools, diagnostic equipment
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) according to project expectations and Technical Manuals (TMs) or work instructions
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing military vehicle platforms (wheeled and tracked)
  • Prior military service in a wheeled or tracked vehicle mechanic MOS (e.g., 91B, 91H, 3521, or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Experience operating heavy equipment, tactical recovery vehicles, forklifts, or shop support equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Diesel mechanic experience
  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
  • National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
  • State Mechanic Certification(s)
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
