About The Position

Pomp’s Tire Service is seeking a Mechanic to help keep vehicles operating safely. The role involves replacing and repairing passenger and light truck tires, performing oil changes and tire alignments, and replacing brakes and shocks. The mechanic uses a range of tools and equipment, diagnoses customer concerns, inspects vehicles for additional issues, and maintains an organized work area. Other duties may be assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Diesel mechanical knowledge or experience is required.
• Passenger automotive knowledge or experience is required.
• Ability to use basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, air wrenches, and other essential tools.
• Ability to lift, push, carry, or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Ability to bend, stretch, lift, push, pull, and reach without difficulty; frequent kneeling and bending over the back is required.

Responsibilities

• Replace and repair passenger and light truck tires.
• Perform oil changes and tire alignments.
• Replace brakes and shocks as required.
• Use hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, brake lathes, air wrenches, and other essential equipment.
• Diagnose customer issues and conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify additional concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
