Requirements

  • Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension.
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class 1 Inspection Mechanic certificate that allows inspection for Class 1 vehicles.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled repairs on cars, trucks, tractors, construction equipment, and powered hand tools
  • Carry out routine servicing such as oil changes, diagnostics, tune ups, and component replacements
  • Complete official state safety and emissions inspections and properly document required records
  • Service diesel-powered equipment and repair electrical, cooling, suspension, and driveline systems
  • Provide emergency road service and perform maintenance in field environments when needed
  • Maintain equipment records and keep the work area clean, safe, and compliant with safety practices
