About The Position

Opelika Ford CDJR is dedicated to delivering exceptional automotive service and maintaining high customer satisfaction. We are seeking a skilled Automotive Master Technician to join our team for expert diagnostics, repairs, and mentorship in a professional and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Ford Master Technician Certification: Mandatory to demonstrate expertise in Ford vehicle systems.
  • 5 to 7+ years as an automotive technician, with significant experience on Ford and Lincoln vehicles, preferably in a dealership setting.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues accurately.
  • Expert use of Ford diagnostic software such as IDS/FDRS, VCMM, and VMM.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, module reprogramming, network communications, and sensor diagnostics.
  • In-depth knowledge of gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrain systems and repairs.

Nice To Haves

  • Ford Senior Master Technician Certification: Preferred for advanced knowledge and commitment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains using Ford proprietary tools and standard equipment.
  • Analyze diagnostic trouble codes, live data, wiring diagrams, and technical service bulletins to identify vehicle malfunctions.
  • Apply advanced testing procedures for engine, transmission, electrical, HVAC, suspension, steering, and braking systems.
  • Execute complex repairs including engine overhauls, transmission rebuilds, electrical system troubleshooting, module programming, and high-voltage hybrid/EV work.
  • Perform factory-scheduled maintenance and repairs following Ford specifications and warranty guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate repairs on the first attempt to maintain customer satisfaction and reduce comebacks.
  • Conduct quality control checks and test drives to verify repair effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to technicians, service advisors, and parts personnel on complex vehicle issues.
  • Mentor junior and A-level technicians to improve their diagnostic and repair capabilities.
  • Stay current on Ford technology, vehicle models, and repair methods through ongoing factory training.
  • Document diagnostics, repairs, parts usage, and recommended services accurately in repair orders and dealership systems.
  • Adhere to Ford warranty policies and procedures.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations including safety and hazardous waste disposal standards.
