About The Position

The General Service Technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role is expected to deliver exceptional 5 Star service through effective communication of vehicle issues and proposed solutions while meeting guests’ expectations for time commitments and quality. This is an hourly position that may be full-time or part-time, depending on business needs.

Requirements

• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform basic vehicle services and repairs in accordance with Monro standards of operation.
• Perform tire services, including wheel removal, balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
• Perform vehicle services, including lubrication, oil changes, basic maintenance such as bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacements, and battery testing and installation.
• Complete Monro’s Courtesy Inspection process for every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
• Assist with general store duties and maintain the store in excellent, clean, guest-ready condition according to Monro standards.
• Perform services according to Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
• Test drive vehicles in accordance with Monro’s Road Test policy, using dedicated test drive routes and following local traffic and safety laws.
• Follow company policies and procedures and applicable governmental standards, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards.
• Consistently use required safety standards established by training, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain technical knowledge and proficiency by timely completion of required Monro University training courses and modules.
• Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and equipment manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.
