About The Position

The General Service Technician is an hourly role that may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs. The technician performs basic routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The position is expected to provide exceptional 5 Star service by communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions effectively, and consistently meeting guest expectations for timing and quality. Monro is a U.S. automotive service and tire dealer with nearly 1,100 locations in 32 states and 16 brands. Requirements

Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform basic vehicle services and repairs efficiently and accurately in accordance with Monro standards.
Perform tire services, including wheel removal and balancing, patch/plug repairs, changing, mounting, installation, and TPMS service and repair.
Perform lubrications, oil changes, basic maintenance such as bulb, wiper blade, and filter replacement, and battery testing and installation.
Complete the Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, identifying, documenting, and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
Perform general store duties and maintain the store's cleanliness and guest-ready condition to Monro standards.
Perform services in accordance with Monro safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
Test-drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy, using dedicated routes and observing local traffic and safety laws.
Follow company policies and procedures, governmental standards, environmental codes, and ANSI/OSHA standards; consistently use required safety practices.
Maintain technical knowledge and proficiency by completing required Monro University training courses and modules on time.
Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
Perform other duties as assigned and required.
