About The Position

In the B.R.A.T.® Shop at Firematic, we’re not just building fire trucks; we’re crafting the future of emergency response. Our custom fire apparatus are designed with innovation, safety, and reliability at the forefront. Join us and be part of a team that’s making a real difference in communities across the country because ONE LIFE IS WORTH IT!® Installs electrical wiring, electrical components and systems on new fire trucks and police vehicles during manufacturing. Components are mostly DC, but A/C knowledge and experience will be needed. Also applies automotive electrical knowledge and experience for input into design of electrical systems. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Positive can-do attitude a must!
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in electrical/electronics and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with high quality performance.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of 12V electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in creating electrical schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-way radio installation and repair experience a plus.
  • Any EVT ratings are a plus and salary will be adjusted accordingly.
  • Whelen Cencom Programming Experience Preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all electrical work meets the highest standards of safety and compliance with NFPA and OEM standards.
  • Layout and install advanced electrical systems for custom fire apparatus, including wiring, lighting, and control systems.
  • Install, test and troubleshoot electrical components and systems in custom built fire apparatus.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics for each custom apparatus.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and other team members to seamlessly integrate electrical systems.
  • Keep up with the latest advancements in electrical technology and fire apparatus standards.
