About The Position

Honor LSV builds premium electric vehicles in Summerville, South Carolina. We are looking for an electrical technician who understands vehicle electrical systems and can do more than simply follow assembly instructions. This is a hands on production and troubleshooting position. You do not need to be an electrical engineer. You do need to understand basic direct current electrical systems, know how to use a multimeter, and be able to diagnose why something does not work. Experience with automotive, marine, RV, powersports, golf carts, forklifts, industrial equipment, or other mobile electrical systems is highly relevant.

Requirements

  • Practical experience working with electrical systems
  • Comfortable with basic direct current electrical theory, 12 volt vehicle electrical systems, using a digital multimeter, reading simple wiring diagrams, proper wire stripping and termination, and troubleshooting instead of simply replacing parts until something works
  • At least one year of relevant electrical, automotive, equipment, or manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and work instructions
  • Ability to use common hand tools and electrical test equipment
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work around vehicles during a normal shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
  • High school diploma, GED, technical school training, military technical experience, or equivalent practical experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with 48 volt electrical systems, CAN communication, lithium battery systems, motor controllers, or electric vehicles is a major advantage, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Build and install vehicle wiring harnesses and electrical components
  • Diagnose electrical problems on completed and partially completed vehicles
  • Work with 12 volt and 48 volt direct current systems
  • Read basic wiring diagrams, trace circuits, and use a multimeter to check voltage, continuity, resistance, grounds, switches, sensors, and wiring
  • Find bad connections, damaged wires, incorrect pinouts, failed components, and assembly mistakes
  • Strip, crimp, terminate, repair, and route wiring correctly
  • Install and test switches, lights, displays, control modules, accessories, connectors, and related components
  • Work with the manufacturing team to identify recurring problems and improve how vehicles are built, including some mechanical assembly when needed
