About The Position

The detailer cleans and refurbishes new, used, and customer vehicles. In addition to the responsibilities of a detailer, the Detail Team Leader is responsible for, in the absence of the Manager, opening and closing repair orders, inspecting completed details for quality, maintain Tekion and the delivery board, delegate work and keep shop productivity flowing and verify that the shop is clean, supplies refilled and department is secure at close of business. The Detail Team Leader must maintain a clear and open line of communication with the Service Manager as well as assist manager in mentoring new hires. As a detailer you are responsible for performing appearance preparation and reconditioning of all new and used cars for retail delivery and/or inventory, cleaning customer service vehicles following repairs and any other tasks as may be assigned by Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 - 3 years detailing experience
  • Valid in-state drivers license.
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to use hand and power tools safely.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to operate smartphone, tablet, and/or PC.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisor experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Wash vehicle exterior using cleaning solutions, water, cloths, and brushes
  • Vacuum interior of vehicles.
  • Clean upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces, using cleaning agent's applicators, and cleaning devices.
  • Apply revitalizing and preservation agents to vinyl or leather surfaces and treat fabrics with spot and stain-resistant chemicals to preserve and protect interior components.
  • Take pictures of completed used vehicles and upload them to the website
  • Responsible for flagging and closing repair orders
  • In the absence of the Manager, opening and closing repair orders
  • Inspecting completed details for quality
  • Maintain Tekion and the delivery board
  • Delegate work and keep shop productivity flowing
  • Verify that the shop is clean, supplies refilled and department is secure at close of business
  • Maintain a clear and open line of communication with the Service Manager
  • Assist manager in mentoring new hires
