About The Position

Xcite Automotive is seeking an Automotive Detail Shop Supervisor / Lead Detailer for our new partner dealers in Wisconsin, Madison! This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows automotive detailing, understands dealership workflow, and can keep a small team moving with quality, urgency, and accountability. The right candidate will help set the standard for the new location by leading daily production, coaching detailers, maintaining dealership-ready vehicle quality, and stepping in to detail vehicles when needed. This role reports directly to the District Manager and will support detailers and car wash attendants on behalf of Xcite Automotive.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional automotive detailing experience, including interior and exterior detailing.
  • Prior hands-on leadership experience in a detail shop, car wash, dealership, reconditioning center, fleet operation, body shop, or automotive service environment.
  • Ability to lead by example while still performing hands-on detailing work.
  • Strong knowledge of detailing products, chemicals, tools, equipment, and safety practices.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, production-driven automotive environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality control, and vehicle presentation.
  • Ability to manage workflow, prioritize vehicles, and keep production moving.
  • Strong communication, organization, reliability, and follow-through.
  • Weekend availability is required. Candidates must be available to work Saturdays and/or Sundays as part of the regular schedule.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Detail Shop Manager, Detail Supervisor, Assistant Manager, Lead Detailer, Car Wash Lead, Recon Lead, or Shop Lead.
  • Experience supporting a new shop launch, new team setup, or dealership account startup.
  • Experience training or mentoring detailers, car wash attendants, porters, or recon team members.
  • Experience with buffing, polishing, waxing, shampooing, extraction, clay bar, final inspections, and basic paint correction.
  • Strong understanding of dealership vehicle flow, lot readiness, production deadlines, and quality expectations.
  • Proven ability to reduce rework, improve efficiency, and maintain consistent vehicle turnaround.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily detail shop workflow, production priorities, and vehicle turnaround.
  • Supervise, coach, and support detailers and car wash attendants.
  • Perform hands-on interior and exterior automotive detailing as needed.
  • Ensure completed vehicles meet dealership-ready quality standards.
  • Assign work, monitor progress, and help keep the shop organized and productive.
  • Train team members on detailing processes, quality expectations, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain detailing supplies, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
  • Communicate with dealership contacts, the District Manager, and internal teams to support daily goals.
  • Identify and resolve workflow, quality, staffing, or production issues before they slow down operations.
