About The Position

Xcite Automotive is seeking an Automotive Detail Assistant Manager in Bel Air, Maryland! This hands-on leadership role is perfect for an automotive detailing professional with experience in dealership reconditioning, car wash operations, or fleet detailing. As the Automotive Detail Assistant Manager, you’ll be at the center of daily shop operations, guiding the team, ensuring quality, and stepping in on detailing tasks when needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in automotive detailing, car wash, fleet, dealership, or reconditioning.
  • Proven leadership in roles such as Lead Detailer, Senior Detailer, Car Wash Lead, Shop Supervisor, or Assistant Manager.
  • Mastery of full interior and exterior detailing, from washing and vacuuming to buffing and final presentation.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, production-driven automotive environment.
  • Strong ability to manage vehicle workflow, production priorities, and quality standards.
  • Weekend availability is mandatory—Saturday and/or Sunday shifts required.
  • Comfortable leading a team while performing hands-on detailing.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, lift, and work indoors/outdoors throughout the day.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a dealership detail shop, reconditioning center, car wash, fleet operation, service department, body shop, or collision center.
  • Previous experience as a Lead Detailer, Senior Detailer, Assistant Manager, Shop Supervisor, Car Wash Lead, or Recon Lead.
  • Experience supporting daily workflow, production priorities, vehicle turnaround time, and quality standards.
  • Experience training, coaching, or supporting detail technicians, car wash attendants, porters, or recon team members.
  • Working knowledge of interior and exterior detailing, including washing, vacuuming, shampooing, extraction, buffing, polishing, waxing, and final touch-ups.
  • Strong attention to quality control, final inspections, and dealership-ready vehicle presentation.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, production-driven automotive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily detail shop operations within the dealership.
  • Coordinate vehicle workflow, assign tasks, and drive production targets.
  • Lead, train, and support detailers, porters, and recon staff.
  • Perform hands-on detailing—washing, buffing, polishing, waxing, and final touch-ups.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure vehicles meet dealership standards.
  • Monitor productivity and ensure on-time vehicle completion.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
  • Proactively communicate shop updates, delays, or quality issues to management.
