The Automotive Controller is responsible for reporting the financial condition of the total dealership to the dealer/general manager regularly and accurately. This role provides sales and expense analyses, summarizing potential problem areas and opportunities for improved profitability relative to monthly and annual forecasts. The Controller ensures that all manufacturer accounts are current and accurate, interprets financial statements and daily operating controls, and participates in financial forecasting. They also manage cash flow, direct depreciation assessments, review the general ledger, and ensure compliance with all government finance regulations. Additionally, the Controller manages the dealership computer system, administers a loss review program, evaluates insurance renewals, purchases insurance, processes claims, and coordinates annual audits and physical inventories. They supervise office personnel to ensure proper accounting procedures and accurate record-keeping, striving to improve data integrity throughout the dealership. The role also involves attending manager meetings and maintaining a professional appearance, with other tasks as assigned.
