About The Position

The IT Coding and Networking Professional is responsible for planning, implementing, securing, and supporting all technology systems across the dealership. This role ensures the reliability of dealership management systems (DMS), network infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and end-user technology while supporting operational efficiency for sales, service, parts, finance, and administrative departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of IT experience, including infrastructure and systems administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows environments, networking, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience managing vendors and technology projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced dealership environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive dealership operations, including sales, service, parts, and finance processes.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting dealership management systems or automotive retail technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage dealership networks, servers, wireless systems, internet connectivity, and telecommunications.
  • Maintain hardware including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, tablets, and mobile devices.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Coordinate hardware and software upgrades and replacements.
  • Administer and support the dealership management system (DMS) and related automotive software platforms.
  • Manage integrations between DMS, CRM, inventory management, service scheduling, accounting, and manufacturer systems.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate vendor support when necessary.
  • Ensure proper user access controls and permissions.
  • Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • Monitor systems for security threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
  • Implement data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations and manufacturer security requirements.
  • Conduct employee cybersecurity awareness training.
  • Provide help desk support for dealership employees.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
  • Manage support tickets and prioritize technology requests.
  • Maintain documentation for systems, procedures, and configurations.
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, software providers, and managed service partners.
  • Negotiate technology contracts and service agreements.
  • Lead technology projects including system implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and outcomes.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies that improve dealership operations and customer experience.
  • Recommend technology investments and budget requirements.
  • Develop annual IT plans aligned with dealership business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency.
