About The Position

This is a great opportunity for automotive technicians to advance their career by teaching other technicians! Vertex Professional Services (VPS) is hiring an Automotive Aftermarket Instructor to facilitate Instructor Led Training courses mentoring and coaching entry level and advanced automotive service technicians. Working with customers and co-workers in a team environment, this position requires thorough knowledge of intricate automotive systems and advanced automotive systems diagnostic skills.

Requirements

Proficient with automotive service information and diagnostic support software
Ability to work skillfully with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including scan tools, lab scopes, DVOMs, HVAC equipment, vibration diagnostic equipment, etc.
Ability to adapt to rapidly changing situations and work environments
Excellent interpersonal skills; working with customers and coworkers in a team setting
Strong working knowledge in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), internet and email
High school diploma or GED
Current ASE Certified Master A1 – A8 Automobile Technician (must be obtained within first year of employment)
ASE A9, L1, L3, L4 and Section 609 certifications (must be obtained within first year of employment)

Nice To Haves

Minimum of five years automotive technician experience
Automotive instructor or public speaking experience
Experience with aftermarket parts and supplier processes/standards is a plus

Responsibilities

Deliver technical training virtually and in-person through a variety of formats including seminar style, small group coaching, and hands-on, from 1 – 8 hours in length to effectively transfer theoretical knowledge to actual live diagnostic strategies.
Through phone, in-person and electronic communications develop relationships with stakeholders to effectively schedule training within assigned market area.
Effectively demonstrate on vehicle diagnosis/repair procedures and objectively evaluate the diagnostic skills and aptitude of service technicians.
Provide automotive subject matter expertise in support of the design and development of training content for a variety of media types including video, web-based, seminar, hands-on, and certification, utilizing advanced graphic techniques
Provide technical diagnostic assistance to technicians via phone as necessary
