About The Position

Sheehy Auto Stores is seeking an Acquisition Specialist to join their team at Sheehy Ford of Ashland. This role focuses on acquiring pre-owned vehicles directly from customers by identifying opportunities, engaging leads, and guiding them through the selling process. The ideal candidate is motivated, relationship-driven, and possesses strong lead handling, data mining, and communication skills. While automotive experience is not required, a background in sales, customer engagement, or business development is beneficial. The position offers a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where personality and drive contribute to success.

Requirements

  • Proven strength in lead handling, prospecting, or data-driven sales/outreach
  • Experience using or quickly learning CRM and data mining tools (eLeads, experience a plus!)
  • Persuasive communicator with the ability to influence decisions and overcome objections
  • Outgoing, gregarious personality where you thrive on connecting with people and starting conversations
  • Strong follow-up discipline and attention to detail
  • Highly organized with effective time management skills
  • Driven, competitive, goal-oriented mindset and willing to work in a high-energy, team-focused environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA with a valid, clean, and non-suspended driver's license
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background screening, Motor Vehicle Record check, and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Background in sales, call center, retail, hospitality, or business development is a plus (but not required)
  • Experience with eLeads

Responsibilities

  • Own the lead pipeline by proactively identifying opportunities using data mining tools such as vAuto reports, CRM systems, and engage opportunities from internal inbound referrals from our sales and service teams.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to leads, keeping prospects engaged through consistent follow-up via phone, text, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Use third-party tools and customer data to uncover equity positions, upgrade opportunities, and acquisition targets.
  • Build trust quickly, confidently communicate value, and guide customers through the vehicle selling and appraisal process, clearly explaining the process and benefits of selling their vehicle to the dealership.
  • Collaborate with the Used Car Manager to align acquisition efforts with inventory goals, focusing on high-demand vehicles and maximizing profitability.
  • Gather and input accurate vehicle and customer data into tools such as AccuTrade and vAuto; review service history reports confirming completed inspections, CARFAX history and ensure appraisal details reflect the actual condition of the vehicle to support accurate appraisal decisions.
  • Maintain discipline through follow-up processes to re-engage leads and maximize acquisition opportunities.
  • Deliver a friendly, upbeat, and professional customer experience.
  • Handle all purchase paperwork and ensure timely resolution of any post-sale payments to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in daily/weekly meetings to track performance metrics to plan activities and continuously refine your approach and strategies.
