About The Position

Auto Warehousing (AWC) is seeking a full-time Accessory Installer at our Baltimore Fairfield location. AWC has been family-owned and operated for over 50 years and is a leader in finished vehicle logistics. The primary responsibility of this position is to execute the disassembly/reassembly of vehicle parts as specified in the work order, ensuring all components are properly removed and/or correctly installed and the vehicle is restored to its proper condition. Incumbents must be comfortable utilizing various hand tools.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 6 months experience or vocation education in manufacturing and/or assembly
  • Pass the AWC driver's safety test at 80% or better
  • Follow directions, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver's license; good driving record
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to drive both standard and automatic automobiles
  • Ability to adhere to strict quality standards without variance
  • Ability to interact with others effectively and work in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Good visual ability

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle for removal and replacement of air bag
  • Drive and park vehicle in appropriate work station
  • Verify the VIN of vehicle is the VIN on the work order
  • Remove all trim parts in vehicle and place them on the shadow board for reassembly
  • Remove and replace fasteners, and disengage wire harness
  • Utilize impact gun to disengage and remove air bag
  • Remove and ensure proper disposition air bag
  • Obtain proper air bag
  • Connect air bag to wire harness and secure in place
  • Reassemble all trim pieces that were removed and place on shadow board
  • Install cargo partition between passenger and cargo area
  • Obtain appropriate lower partition from kitting rack
  • Install and secure by bolting partition in place
  • Obtain appropriate upper partition from kitting rack
  • Install and secure by clipping, riveting, and bolting partition in place
  • Reposition existing lights in the cargo area of the vehicle
  • Obtain jumper wire from kitting cart
  • Connect jumper wire and route wire harness into the proper location in the vehicle frame
  • Snap dome lights into proper opening
  • Change out front headliner and install scuff plates
  • Disassemble and remove trim pieces to access headliner
  • Route wire harness with dome light to the appropriate space
  • Verify continuity within wire harness
  • Obtain appropriate headliner, and guide into place
  • Secure headliner with push pins and reassemble trim pieces into place
  • Obtain appropriate scuff plate from the kitting cart
  • Position scuff plate in line with screw holes and secure utilizing screw gun
  • Keep tools maintained and secure
  • Train and develop new associates and team members
  • Execute all other duties as assigned by management
