About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Automation Testing Specialist to support enterprise-scale technology initiatives through comprehensive quality assurance and testing services. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing testing strategies, planning and executing testing activities, and ensuring the quality and reliability of complex software solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software testing within enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
  • Hands-on experience with both manual testing and automated testing tools/frameworks.
  • Experience developing and planning automated testing solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall testing methodologies.
  • Extensive experience with AODA testing and compliance requirements.
  • Experience creating and maintaining testing strategies, test cases, scripts, and reports.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium and/or Postman for API testing.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.
  • Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Proven experience performing end-to-end testing of complex systems, covering functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance compliance standards and security testing best practices.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases such as SQL and Oracle.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms including Azure and AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, Git, and GitLab.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both business and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage aggressive timelines, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Public Service quality assurance standards and practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with at least one programming language.
  • Experience using information retrieval packages.
  • Understanding of testing methodologies in object-oriented environments.
  • Knowledge of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and regulations.
  • Experience planning and organizing testing efforts for both large and small systems.
  • Experience developing automated test scripts and automated test suites.
  • Experience testing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on testing strategies, test plans, testing tool selection, and resource requirements.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate testing efforts for large-scale systems in both GUI and non-GUI environments.
  • Execute systems integration testing, specialized testing, and user acceptance testing activities, including stress testing.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test scripts, test cases, and test data.
  • Execute testing across various system components and validate functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate with testing leads, IT leads, project teams, and stakeholders throughout analysis, design, development, implementation, and ongoing support phases.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) activities and coordinate business validation efforts.
  • Create testing strategy documentation, testing reports, and quality assurance artifacts.
  • Participate in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Identify, document, track, and support resolution of defects and quality issues.
