About The Position

Under general supervision, provides associate-level instruction to students in classroom settings, prepares syllabi and lesson plans, and develops program goals and objectives. The instructor must possess the ability to teach all phases of the curriculum, demonstrate appropriate teaching techniques, utilize effective testing and grading procedures, maintain accurate records, and possess strong oral and written communication skills. This role requires knowledge of current in-field procedures and adherence to approved course syllabi and program requirements. The instructor is responsible for attending and completing professional development training, meeting with students and college personnel to discuss instructional programs, and evaluating student progress. Additionally, the position involves completing reports, records, and invoices in a timely manner, maintaining accurate inventory of assigned properties, and potentially serving as a lead instructor to mentor adjunct faculty. Maintaining qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Policy Manual and accreditation standards is essential. The role follows TCSG Policy Manual rules and regulations and other institutional policies. Dual Enrollment instructors must adhere to on-site location rules. This position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes, online classes, and requires travel within the college’s service area and additional travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Earned bachelor’s degree in Automation Technology or a closely related field OR Earned Technical Certificate (or relevant post-secondary coursework) in Automation Technology or a closely related field AND Minimum of two (2) years of documented full-time work experience in the field or closely related field.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to rules and regulations of the on-site location for Dual Enrollment instructors.
  • May teach traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes.
  • Requires travel within the college’s service area and additional travel as needed.
  • Works normal business day hours, with potential for additional hours or flexible schedule including evenings.
  • Works 12 calendar months per year at 40 hours per week.
  • Teaching assignments may include travel to one or more campus/site locations, dual enrollment programs, and assigned locations.
  • May include a combination of face-to-face and distance instructional delivery methods.
  • May be assigned to any campus/site based on business needs.
