About The Position

The machinist, automation, is responsible for welding and fabricating components used in blow mold machine manufacturing. This role involves laying out, fitting, and fabricating steel components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, producing high-quality welds on all products and assemblies using MIG/TIG/Stick Welding. The technician will read and interpret blueprints, product specifications, work instructions, and parts lists, while also understanding and accurately interpreting measurements and dimensions. Responsibilities include resolving assembly and production out-of-spec occurrences, completing preventive maintenance of work areas and assigned equipment, troubleshooting malfunctions, and performing repairs as needed. The technician is responsible for the product quality of all fabricated components and assemblies. Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Requirements

2+ years machining experience
High school degree, GED, or equivalent

Responsibilities

Layout, fit, and fabricate steel components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies
Perform MIG/TIG/Stick Welding
Produce high quality welds on all products and assemblies
Read and interpret blueprints, product specifications, and work instructions
Read and understand all parts lists
Have working knowledge of various power tools and hand tools
Be able to understand and accurately interpret measurements, dimensions, and product specifications
Read tape measures, slide-rules, and other measuring devices
Resolve all assembly and production out-of-spec occurrences
Complete preventive maintenance of work areas and assigned equipment
Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed
Be responsible for product quality of all fabricated components and assemblies
