About The Position

Our packaging and manufacturing operations at the Lincoln site are heavily automated via programmable systems (PLCs/HMIs/VFDs), classical electrical control systems (relays/sensors/contactors), and networked systems (server ran manufacturing software/network switches/window domain user control/databases). The purpose of the Automation Technician is to provide direct support to these systems and their operators where they are being used for production, and to be subject matter experts (SMEs) of these systems for purposes of system modification, maintenance, or answering questions/data gathering at the request of other teams or groups.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in related discipline, or equivalent technical certifications.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience as an automation technician, maintenance electrician, or line operation technician.
  • Basic understanding of Windows Operating Systems.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in management and support of manufacturing automated systems.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation products.
  • Knowledge of electrical system installation and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation, PLCs, HMIs.
  • Basic understanding of domain/active directory, network switch configuration, SQL database viewing, software operation, IT support.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, repairs, maintains, and modifies factory automated control systems, equipment, and network/software interfaces.
  • Provide direct/immediate support to manufacturing and packaging at the site of automated systems.
  • Provide day to day support of automated systems (automated data gathering, databases, electronic batch records, historians, report generation, manufacturing and packaging control systems, PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation).
  • Support of Automation projects in design and configuration of new systems and updating existing systems at the direction from site Engineers.
  • Provide support to production maintenance technicians and facilities technicians in monitoring/managing/troubleshooting automated systems.
  • Uses a high degree of care and skill to prevent injury to personnel or damage to equipment.
  • Ensures compliance to GMP and SOP policies and procedures including documentation of work performed.
  • Maintains knowledge of updated and new automation technologies and industry practices and recommend adopting or deploying as necessary to enhance automation effectiveness and ensure continued viability of installed infrastructure.
  • Know, understand and comply with all company Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
  • Know, understand, and adhere to all company Quality Compliance standards.
