Our packaging and manufacturing operations at the Lincoln site are heavily automated via programmable systems (PLCs/HMIs/VFDs), classical electrical control systems (relays/sensors/contactors), and networked systems (server ran manufacturing software/network switches/window domain user control/databases). The purpose of the Automation Technician is to provide direct support to these systems and their operators where they are being used for production, and to be subject matter experts (SMEs) of these systems for purposes of system modification, maintenance, or answering questions/data gathering at the request of other teams or groups.
