About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled CNC Automation Technician to support our high-volume manufacturing operations. This role is critical in ensuring efficient, accurate, and consistent production of metal components using CNC machinery integrated with automated systems. The ideal candidate brings hands-on manufacturing experience and a strong understanding of machining processes, robotics, and industrial automation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience, including at least 1 year in an automated manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in G-code programming and CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM).
  • Familiarity with PLCs, robotic systems, and automated material handling equipment.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • technical certification or associate degree in CNC machining, automation, or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines (milling, turning, grinding) in a high-volume production environment.
  • Configure machines for production runs, including tooling, fixturing, and calibration of automated systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, process sheets, and work instructions to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Translate mechanical drawings into machine instructions using CAD/CAM software.
  • Program and adjust CNC equipment using G-code to optimize cycle times and reduce waste.
  • Load raw materials and tools; perform test runs to verify accuracy and performance.
  • Troubleshoot CNC programs, machine issues, and automation systems (robotic arms, conveyors, PLC-controlled equipment).
  • Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
  • Maintain production logs, machine settings, and quality control records.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and report malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
