About The Position

In this role, you will support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of robotic and automated manufacturing systems. Key responsibilities include supporting robotic cell deployment, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting automation and controls issues, optimizing vision systems, and maintaining equipment reliability. You will work closely with Automation Engineering, Manufacturing, and Production teams to ensure automated systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. This position supports production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in Automation, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Controls, or related fields.
  • Experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with industrial robots, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, machine vision systems, and electrical control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment.

  • Experience with EPSON and Universal robots will be an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain robotic cells, automation equipment, vision systems, and controls infrastructure to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and performance.
  • Perform reactive troubleshooting of robotic, electrical, controls, and automation-related issues that occur during production and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities on robots, tooling, vision systems, sensors, PLCs, electrical panels, and associated automation equipment while maintaining accurate records of completed work.
  • Support robotic cell assembly, integration, testing, commissioning, and deployment activities for new and existing automation systems.
  • Perform robot reteaching, recovery procedures, calibration, and tooling adjustments to maintain process quality and equipment performance.
  • Troubleshoot, configure, and optimize machine vision systems, including camera alignment, lighting adjustments, and inspection parameters.
  • Work with the Automation Engineering team to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and controls systems, including PLCs, HMIs, servo systems, safety circuits, sensors, drives, and industrial communication networks.
  • Manage spare parts inventory for automation equipment by identifying critical components, supporting procurement activities, and maintaining inventory records.
  • Maintain equipment documentation, software backups, recovery procedures, and postdeployment support and handover packages.
  • Assist production teams as needed based on operational priorities and provide technical support for automated equipment operation and recovery.
