About The Position

The Automation Specialist possesses high-level programming knowledge with strong machine building capabilities. They will provide support in every aspect of integration: mechanical, electrical, and prove out. This includes and is not limited to design, implementation, modification, test/debugging, and post integration support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or related coursework preferred.
• 5+ years of machine building, automation, or manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedures, and electrical schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficient in basic mathematics, including percentages, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working overtime as needed.
• Ability to work safely in manufacturing environments with varying temperatures, humidity levels, and moderate noise, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain all forms of Robotics in all plants (Cartesian and 6-Axis).
• Responsible for assisting with conceptualization, integration, programming, and documentation of robots.
• Assist with, lead, and develop Engineering standards for robotics across the enterprise.
• Work with Automation Engineering to develop and/or facilitate training programs internally for technicians and production personnel, as needed.
• Document, schedule, standardize, and sustain preventative maintenance programs for robotic systems in all plants.
• Participate in on-site and off-site automation system runoffs.
• Participate in machine builds and project support.
• Stay informed of new technology, methods, and materials for this position.
• Support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping practices.
• Perform additional duties as required.
