About The Position

As an Automation Specialist, you will work on company and customer locations to support NTE’s automation product line. This position will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of water transfer controlling and monitoring devices in the Oil & Gas Industry. This position ensures that all the Automation System needs of the branch are conducted in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner. This role provides a great opportunity to learn and grow within our service department and beyond.

Requirements

  • Must have working knowledge and excellent troubleshooting skills of analog instrumentation, digital instrumentation, and electronic circuitry
  • Must have a valid state driver’s license with a moderately clean driving record to travel locally/regionally
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and kneel for long periods of time in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to frequently lift 50+ lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably have an Associate's, Bachelor's, or degree or certificate (engineering or information technology)
  • Preferably have water transfer or centrifugal pump experience
  • Preferably have understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus), SCADA, and cellular modems

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of oil and gas water transfer controlling and monitoring devices in both the shop and in the field
  • Use common hand and power tools to install a variety of sensors and control equipment
  • Provide in-field and remote access support to customers using hardware devices and web-based monitoring software
  • Assist customers in configuring and modifying the web-based control on site or in a remote capacity
  • Provide technical guidance to diagnose wiring and hardware issues for systems in the field
  • Work closely with automation team to provide input on new generations of products and services
  • Maintain professional and ethical business relationships with all customers and co-workers following the established company policies and procedures
  • Produce all required service tickets and/or documentation accurately, completely, and in a timely manner
  • Communicate with the team for the ordering, stocking, and delivery of needed parts and equipment
  • Be an ambassador for safety, making sure all work is done in the safest manner
  • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Management
