About The Position

As our Automation Specialist, you will support NTE's automation product line by managing the complete lifecycle of water transfer control and monitoring systems in the oil and gas industry. You will perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities while ensuring branch automation needs are completed efficiently, accurately, and on time. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2-4 years of experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, oilfield automation, water transfer operations, or a related technical field
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel locally and regionally.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, and work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to frequently lift and 45 pounds.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree, technical certificate, or equivalent education in Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with water transfer systems, centrifugal pumps, or oil and gas operations.
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, cellular modems, remote monitoring technologies, and wireless communications.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, automation controls, instrumentation, and industrial networking.
  • Experience providing field service support and customer technical assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair water transfer control and monitoring devices in both shop and field environments.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to install sensors, instrumentation, and control equipment.
  • Configure and modify web-based control and monitoring systems.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for customers utilizing automation hardware and software solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues involving analog instrumentation, digital instrumentation, and electronic circuitry.
  • Provide technical guidance for wiring, hardware, and system-related challenges in the field.
  • Support customers in identifying and resolving operational issues through remote access and onsite service.
  • Verify proper system functionality and performance following installations and repairs.
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with customers while delivering responsive service and support.
  • Assist customers with system configuration, monitoring, and operational adjustments.
  • Serve as a technical resource for automation products and services.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding service findings, recommendations, and solutions.
  • Coordinate ordering, stocking, and delivery of automation parts and equipment.
  • Accurately complete service tickets, work orders, and required documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with development and improvement of new automation products and services.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards.
  • Work closely with the automation team to provide feedback on products, services, and processes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by management.
