We are currently recruiting for an Automation Specialist Co-op Student for a 12-month term (September 2026 to August 2027) to work with our Control Systems Lifecycle Services Team in Edmonton. Reporting to the Manager, Lifecycle Care Services, you will work within the systems team to provide support to several Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and System Integration solutions. Duties may include system testing and start-up, system design, control design, graphics design, configuration of graphics and control logic, development of test reports and Software Acceptance Testing.

Requirements

  • Current student in Electrical or Chemical Engineering; or Instrumentation Engineering Technology
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs; Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Working knowledge of Process Control hardware and software
  • Solid technical problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication, time management and computer skills
  • Collaborative team player with sound work principles
  • Excellent office organizational and operational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DeltaV (hardware/software)
  • 3D CAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical experience
  • Demonstrated customer service and sales skills in an industrial environment
