About The Position

Gerrie Electric, a family-owned Canadian company and Platinum Club winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, is seeking an Automation & Software Product Manager for its Central Region. This role is part of the Automation Group and is responsible for promoting, marketing, selling, and supporting automation and software solutions. The position involves combining product management, technical expertise, sales support, and market development, working closely with customers, account managers, and internal teams to drive growth and increase market penetration. Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of a 3-year electrical/electronic technology program with an emphasis on Automation.
  • Proven success defining and growing new markets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Automation product lines.
  • Strategically minded with strong presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in an Automation field is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends, competition, and growth opportunities
  • Develop and execute regional business and product growth plans
  • Promote the value of assigned automation and software products
  • Identify and develop new automation market opportunities
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for customers and sales teams
  • Support account managers with solution design, demos, and presentations
  • Recommend automation and software solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Provide technical and commercial support throughout the sales cycle
  • Promote products at trade shows, customer seminars, and marketing events
  • Deliver internal training on product features, applications, and positioning
  • Act as a liaison between Sales and customers on credit limits and job accounts
  • Communicate clearly to ensure timely issue resolution
  • Foster a collaborative, team-focused environment
  • Work cross-functionally to support customer success and regional objectives
  • Adhere to ISO policies and procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in professional development, conferences, and seminars
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and standards
  • Contribute to committees and special projects as needed
