About The Position

CGI is seeking an experienced Automation Quality Engineer (QE) with strong expertise in test automation using Playwright, Selenium and Cucumber. The role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust automated testing solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of enterprise applications. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Selenium and Playwright, with experience building scalable automation frameworks and executing UI, functional, regression, API, and end-to-end testing. The engineer will work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing, enabling continuous testing and accelerating application releases. Responsibilities include automation framework development, reusable test component creation, API automation, test data management, test reporting, defect investigation, and root cause analysis. The position will also leverage Generative AI and AI assisted Quality Engineering techniques to improve testing productivity and effectiveness. The engineer will use tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Microsoft Copilot to assist with test case generation, automation script development, test data creation, defect analysis, test optimization, and automation maintenance.

Requirements

At least 6+ Years of experience with strong expertise in automation testing using Selenium and Playwright for UI, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Proven experience designing and maintaining automation frameworks, reusable test components, API automation, test data management, and automated reporting.
Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, Git, Jira, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and modern DevOps practices.
Working experience with Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, and AI assisted Quality Engineering, including tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Microsoft Copilot.
Strong analytical, debugging, defect/RCA analysis, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a focus on automation coverage and continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright for UI, functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
Develop and execute API automation, automated regression suites, test data validation, and reporting to ensure application quality and reliability.
Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing, faster feedback, and reliable releases.
Leverage Generative AI and AI assisted QE tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, and Microsoft Copilot for test generation, defect analysis, RCA, and automation optimization.
Collaborate with Development, Product, and DevOps teams to improve automation coverage, troubleshoot defects, optimize testing processes, and drive continuous quality improvement.
