Automation Product Analyst

HUB InternationalChicago, IL
$100,000 - $125,000Hybrid

About The Position

HUB is seeking an Automation Product Analyst to join the RPA & Automation team within our centralized technology organization. This role owns the product discipline around HUB's automation program: qualifying and intaking new opportunities, developing business cases, managing a prioritized pipeline into the development team, and holding deployed automations accountable to the value they were built to deliver. Technical fluency in RPA and adjacent automation tools is required; the core of the role is working closely with business stakeholders to translate operational problems into well-scoped, value-justified work. HUB operates a large and growing production bot portfolio across claims, policy administration, financial reconciliation, compliance, and regional operations. The Automation Product Analyst is the connective tissue between the business stakeholders who originate demand and the engineering team that delivers it. This is a visible, cross-functional role that directly shapes what gets built, what gets retired, and how value is measured and reported.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, product analysis, product management, or a similar analytical and stakeholder-facing role
  • Demonstrated experience working with RPA platforms, with UiPath strongly preferred
  • Experience writing business cases, quantifying ROI, and managing prioritized backlogs from intake through delivery
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills with ability to engage operational leaders, technical teams, and executive audiences
  • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar) for value assessment and portfolio reporting
  • Experience with Agile delivery and backlog management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field

Nice To Haves

  • Insurance or financial services industry experience
  • Experience working within an automation Center of Excellence or similar centralized delivery model
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) and adjacent low-code / no-code tooling
  • Exposure to AI-assisted automation tools and general comfort with generative AI platforms (Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT)
  • Experience with process discovery or process mining tools
  • Change management or stakeholder enablement experience
  • Experience supporting distributed or regional teams across multiple locations and business lines

Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders, operational leaders, and demand intake partners to identify, qualify, and scope new automation opportunities
  • Facilitate discovery sessions to understand current-state processes, pain points, volumes, exception rates, and upstream and downstream dependencies
  • Document use cases, process flows, and requirements in a structured format that supports downstream technical design and delivery
  • Perform initial feasibility screening and route opportunities to the appropriate technology path (RPA, Power Platform, API, AI-assisted, or self-service)
  • Develop business cases with defined problem statements, success metrics, expected ROI, and stakeholder sign-off before work enters the development pipeline
  • Quantify automation value including hours saved, hard-dollar cost avoidance, error reduction, and process throughput improvement
  • Apply a consistent scoring and prioritization methodology to rank opportunities across strategic value, complexity, reusability, and capacity fit
  • Manage the prioritized intake pipeline feeding the development team and maintain visibility into what is in flight, what is queued, and what has been deferred
  • Monitor production bot health, triage exceptions, and coordinate change impact analysis when upstream systems or business processes evolve
  • Track post-deployment value realization and report ROI and portfolio health on a regular cadence
  • Maintain the portfolio inventory, classifying automations by health, value delivered, and retirement candidacy
  • Surface patterns across the portfolio to identify opportunities for standardization, reuse, and retirement of low-value automations
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day business-facing liaison for the RPA & Automation team, building durable relationships with operational and regional leaders
  • Partner with the demand intake function to provide early technical guidance on incoming requests and help shape investment theses
  • Support governance, compliance alignment, and audit readiness across the automated process portfolio
  • Contribute to executive reporting on automation program performance, value realization, and portfolio health

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Hybrid work arrangement
  • Professional development and certification reimbursement
  • Opportunity to shape HUB's enterprise automation program and work across a modern automation stack spanning RPA, Power Platform, Python, and AI-assisted tooling
  • health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits such as vacation, sick, and personal days, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
