Position Summary Why You’ll Love This Role As an Automation Technician, you’ll be at the heart of keeping advanced automated systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, improving processes, and working with cutting‑edge automation and controls technology. You’ll partner closely with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to keep production moving and continuously improve performance. What You’ll Do In this role, you’ll support, maintain, and improve automated systems across the facility, including PLCs, robotics, sensors, vision systems, and industrial networks.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience supporting automated or industrial equipment
  • Strong understanding of electrical and control systems
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled equipment
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder logic
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, industrial or distribution environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Industrial Technology
  • Experience with robotics, servo systems, and vision systems
  • Knowledge of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CMMS and preventive maintenance programs
  • Manufacturing or high‑speed distribution environment experience

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair automated manufacturing and material handling equipment
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on automation, electrical, and control systems
  • Troubleshoot PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar), HMI panels, and VFDs
  • Support robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar), including setup and recovery
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical documentation
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Support new equipment installations, upgrades, and system modifications
  • Maintain safety standards when working with high‑voltage and automated systems
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve reliability, throughput, and uptime
  • Document repairs, system changes, and preventive maintenance activities in the CMMS
