About The Position

Symbotic is seeking an Automation General Manager to lead operations at one of our customer distribution center sites. In this role you'll drive operational excellence, build strong customer partnerships, and develop a high-performing team. We're looking for a leader who sets the tone – someone who holds the team accountable, communicates with clarity, and is genuinely committed to delivering best-in-class results. The General Manager is part of the site operations team, which is part of the Customer Operations organization. The Customer Operations organization is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of Symbotic’s robotic material handling system. The Customer Operations organization drives operational excellence by engaging and partnering with our onsite customers to drive best-in-class quality, safety and system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of functional management and direct supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of direct leadership within an operations environment.
  • Experience in logistics, material management, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong understanding of operational metrics and performance management.
  • Proven ability to drive change and implement process improvements.
  • Budget preparation and financial management experience.
  • Flexibility for overtime and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day automation operations and production management at the customer site.
  • Conduct performance assessments, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Own the site operating plan and customer financial commitments and lead the team in executing against them.
  • Monitor and report on operational performance to customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining quality standards and resolving issues promptly.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the site operations team by fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and continuous improvement.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, and operational discipline across the site.
  • Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, LOTO protocols, and company policies.
  • Support team development through coaching, training, and hands-on leadership.
