The Automation Engineer develops new technology and supports existing technology to improve production, quality, profitability, and safety. The role plans, schedules, and executes projects, communicates project status against target timelines, and manages or assists with facility expansions and modifications. This is an onsite, fixed-term contract projected to last 9 months, with full-time hours. The position includes benefits and training, and offers a $1,000 bonus at the 12- and 24-week milestones for those who complete them. No relocation assistance is provided. The role supports automation used in medical-device manufacturing, including assembly machines and fixtures, label applicators, robots, robot end-of-arm equipment, separators, and test equipment, as well as other equipment assigned by management. It involves project documentation and validation, equipment troubleshooting and repair, machine-safety evaluation, and analysis of production data to help automation lines meet output and OEE targets. The position works daily with the engineering manager and shift support staff and may require travel of up to 13 business days per year. The work takes place in a manufacturing facility housing plastic injection molding machines. Employees must tolerate fumes and particulates generated by plastics, work constructively amid potentially stressful competing-resource demands, and maintain company confidentiality. The role requires a 40-hour work week, with overtime or irregular hours as needed to complete assignments.
