Booz Allen is seeking a software developer to develop efficient, effective software in an agile environment, from initial vision through production-ready systems. The Automation Engineer will use modern architectural approaches, open-source frameworks, and resources to address client challenges, identify and implement system improvements, and deliver solutions that support existing architecture and operating environments while enabling future functionality and enhancements. The role focuses on SQL-driven data extraction, migration, structuring, and bot transaction logging; scalable automation environments in cloud ecosystems, particularly AWS; and Python-based data manipulation, file handling, backend scripting, and utility libraries that extend traditional RPA capabilities. The engineer will also work with container deployment pipelines and GitOps workflows in enterprise IT environments. Applicants selected will be subject to a government investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements of the U.S. government client. Candidates must complete the required skills assessment and meet its minimum proficiency threshold to continue in the hiring process. The hiring process includes identity verification using biometrics and AI, and candidates are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments. Use of AI or other tools to assist with interview responses is prohibited unless explicitly permitted. Booz Allen describes its people-first culture as prioritizing collaboration. Its general work-model guidance says remote roles may occasionally require in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility, hybrid roles require facility work in alignment with leadership expectations and role needs, and onsite roles are primarily performed full-time at a customer facility. The posting does not specify which work model applies to this position.
