Automation Engineer
About The Position
Midwest multi-disciplined engineering firm is looking to add an Automation Engineer to their Chicago team! This role involves the design, installation, commissioning, and testing of instrumentation & control systems (SCADA). The engineer will collaborate with internal departments such as information technology, engineering, and operations, and will provide project management, manage teams, and ensure quality control throughout all project phases. The position also includes providing instrumentation & control design services for water/wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related facilities. Onsite work for municipal clients is required for instrumentation configuration, installation assistance, and control system and process start-up/testing. The role also includes being on-call 24/7 on a weekly rotation to troubleshoot instrumentation/control issues.
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 5+ years of experience as an Electrical/Controls Engineer performing design, programming, installation and startup tasks
- Programming experience using PLCs, SCADA, and OITs software
- Experience using various products (Concentric Integration primarily include Allen-Bradley SLC, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix, PanelView, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, GE iFIX, Inductive Automation Ignition, Wonderware System Platform, InTouch, and other hardware/software)
- Advanced computer skills
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship

- Auto CAD/Visio experience preferred
